On Sunday, Nalan’s parents got him Aungoni a red raincoat.
“Ma, may I wear it now?” asked Nalan.
“No my dear, now the sky is clear.” said Ma.
ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழபையன்று நளனின் பெற்றோர் அவனுக்கு ஒரு சிவப்பு நிற மழைக்கோட்டு வாங்கித் தந்தனர்.
“அம்மா நான் இதை இப்போதே அணிந்து கொள்ளலாமா?” என்று கேட்டான் நளன்.
“இல்லை அன்பே! இப்போது வானம் தெளிவாக உள்ளது” என்றாள் அவனது அம்மா.
“Will it rain today, Mummy?” asked Nalan on Monday.
“No Nalan, not today. It is bright and sunny. If you wear, it will be funny!” said Ma.
“அம்மா , இன்று மழை பொழியுமா?” என்று நளன் திங்கட்கிழமை கேட்டான். “இல்லை, நளன், இன்று பெய்யாது. இன்று பிரகாசமாகவும், சூரிய வெளிச்சமாகவும் இருக்கிறது. இன்று நீ (மழைக் கோட்டு அணிந்தால், அது வேடிக்கையாய் இருக்கும்”. என்றாள் அம்மா.
On Tuesday, “Ma, when will my wish come true?”asked Nalan.
“Not today, my dear, there is just one white cloud in the sky!” said Ma.
செவ்வாய்க்கிழமையன்று, “அம்மா, எப்போது என் ஆசை நிறைவேறும்?” என்று கேட்டான் நளன். “இன்று அல்ல, அன்பே , ஒரே ஒரு வெண் மேகம் தான் வானில் உள்ளது” என்றாள் அவனதுஅன்னை .
On Wednesday “Ma, why doesn’t it rain?” asked Nalan.
“Son, I think it is hot. It will rain before noon.” said Ma.
புதன் கிழமை அன்று நளன் “அம்மா ஏன் மழை பெய்ய மாட்டேன் என்கிறது?” என்று கேட்டான். “மகனே, வெப்பமாக இருப்பதால், மதியத்திற்கு முன் முழை பெய்யும் என்று நான் நினைக்கிறேன்’ என்றாள் அவனுடைய தாயார்.
On Thursday during picnic, “Ma, what if it rains? Shall I take the raincoat with me for picnic?” asked Nalan.
“No my dear it will not rain The little white clouds are too high. said Ma.
வியாழக்கிழமை, சுற்றுலாவின் போது “அம்மா இப்போது மழை பெய்தால்? நான் என் மழைக் கோட்டை சுற்றுலாவுக்கு எடுத்து வரட்டுமா?” என்று நளன் கேட்டான்.
“இல்லை அன்பே, மழை பெய்யாது. சிறிய ” வெள்ளை மேகங்கள் மிக உயரத்தில் உள்ளன”, என்றாள் அவனது அம்மா.

“It might, my dear there are some dark clouds low down in the sky.” said Ma.

“பெய்யலாம், என் அன்பே , ஏனெனில் சில கறுப்பு மேகங்கள் வானத்தின் அடிவாரத்தில் தென்படுகின்றன” என்றாள் அன்னை.
