ஹாசன் வழியாக மங்களூர் செல்ல வேண்டும் என்பது அவரின் நீண்ட நாள் ஆசை. இரண்டு நாட்கள் மிதிவண்டி பயணத்தில் ஹாசனை அடைந்தார். ஒரே நாளில் வெப்பம், மழை, குளிர் மாறி மாறி வந்தது.மழைத் தூரலில் அடுத்த ஊர் வரை சென்றார். பெரிய இறக்கத்தில் இறங்கும் போது மிதிவண்டியில் காற்று இறங்கிவிட்டது. காற்றடிக்கும் கருவியும் இல்லை.நீண்ட தூரம் நடந்தும் யாரையும் காணவில்லை.

குடிசை வீட்டுச் சிறுவன்
ஒரு குடிசை வீடு தெரிந்தது. அதில் ஒரு சிறுவனும் அவனது அம்மாவும் இருந்தனர். பெங்களூரில் இருந்து மிதிவண்டியில் வந்ததைச் சொன்னதும் அந்தச் சிறுவனால் நம்ப முடியவில்லை. மனம் இருந்தால் எங்கு வேண்டும் என்றாலும் மிதிவண்டியில் செல்லாம் என்றார். மிதிவண்டி ஆர்வத்தைச் சிறுவன் சொன்னான்.
